I am getting ready to install Linux on my comp with win98se. I will be using Partition Magic for my 20GB hard drive. Are there any tricks or tips that I need to know. Thanks for your help in advance.

all the partitions you should be able to create during the install of linux if youre using redhat or mandrake. both installs are very easy to use.

you'll need to keep the kernel below 1024 cylinders (8gb) in the /boot directory. other than that either is fine. if you don't, you'll need a boot floppy yo start up and then you can upgrade lilo and it will work anyway

What Linux OS are you using? I was thinking of dual booting Linux and Win2k. What do you people feel it the best Linux OS?

I'm a semi-newbie and so far I've tried Caldera eDesktop2.4 and Mandrake7.2

Both are easy to install, but Mandrake is more updated and has more applications (hence the 2 ISOs). linuxnewbie.org has boatloads of info that I've been using.
