He went full balls with the high speed camera & led setup, quite a good investigation actually, much more than most review sites would get into.

Surprising results!

It seems going direct via DP to the monitor bypass some latency of going through NV's module, thought?

Seems to be a 6ms avg delta.

As FPS goes down, latency goes up, as expected:

But then we get this, when its 45 fps, FS breaks down and get massive input lag.

This confirmed my thoughts regarding jumping onboard with a 1st gen FS monitor, they are just crap for the lower FPS ranges, where you need GS/FS to function most.

I doubt it's the module. Tftcentral would probably have measured it.

I'd say it's more likely the driver that trades some latency for better smoothness and multithreading capability.

By default the nvidia driver is at 3 pre rendered frames and has the scaling set to gpu. Setting the pre rendered frames to 1 (minimum) and changing scaling to "no scaling" and "display" can make a very noticable difference in some games.

Those No-Vsync 200 fps scores will rustle some jimmies in the competitive gaming scene if that isn't a fluke.
