Hi,

I just rearranged my wireless network at home to improve the wireless coverage within the house. Specifically, i moved the AP to the center of the house and put my main PC (which was wired via ethernet to the AP) on a wireless link. I did this with a linksys wireles usb adapter.

This definitely improved the wireless signal within the house. The clients within the main areas of the house (laptop, mp3 streaming device - slimdevices squeezebox) have much better signal strength and work better than before. Even the PC that is now connected wirelessly to the AP has good enough signal strength and has good data transfer rates.

Problem is that my PC now hangs with alarming regularity!. My system:
- AMX X2 3800
- Nvidia Nforce 4 ultra system - epox ultra 9npa+
- ATI 6800 XL graphics card
- 1 Gig RAM
- 2, 250GB sata drives

Has anyone had problems with USB wireless adapters and in particular, the linksys device? I am running it at 54G, but not turbo mode. I assume this is some form of either a bad driver for the wireless adapter (i am using the latest) or bad USB 2 drivers (i think i am again using the latest). Has anyone been able to fix this? Or should i simply buy a PCI based adapter?

thanks!
