I have a Linksys WUSB11 wireless USB NIC, and I'm trying to get it to connect to a D-Link DI-524 wireless b-g router using 128 bit WEP. I know the router is working, because the DWL-G630 wireless-G card that came bundled with it works perfectly (I'm on it right now, through my laptop).
The specs for the WUSB11 say that it's compatible with 128-bit WEP, but I can't get it to connect to it, no matter what I try. The adapter works fine on unsecured networks. The WUSB11 that I have is version 2.6.
I tried calling Linksys tech support, but they were worthless. I've tried updating drivers, playing with router settings, everything - but nothing helps. Does anyone have any ideas how I can make it work?
I looked around online, and all the retail sites that sell this product mention that it's compatible with 128 bit WEP via a firmware upgrade - but the Linksys web site says nothing about it. It seems that the firmware upgrade is only available for earlier versions, unless I'm missing something?
