This is an excellent router. I have the firmware version 1.50.8. Lately, my router keeps on resetting itself ranging from like every 10min to like a day. This started on Friday, and I've tried reinstalling/updating the firmware, but to no avail. Every router I get have disconnecting problems. My previous router was a D-Link DI-624. So back to my Linksys...Is there anyway to fix this very annoying problem?? Thanks....

Did you hard reset the linksys?

Did you change CAT5 cable between router and modem since connection is intermittent?

Well, same for DI-624! !
 
You can hard reset by holding down the reset button as you plug power into the unit. And if you're using the stock Linksys firmware my only suggestion is to update to the latest revision (if possible).
 
Can you give us more information? What kind of connection do you have and who is your provider?

What times of the day is it resetting?? What are you exactly doing when the disconnects are happening (playing online games or using bit torrent)??
Have you changed the default password to your router? Did you scan your computer for viruses??

If your router is "rebooting", there are only a few things I can see possibly happening.

1. Hardware is faulty
2. Configuration issue
3. Someone is somehow gaining access to your router (trojan on PC) or (access to web interface)
4. Power supply issue

If your router is "disconnecting" and you have already updated the firmware, replaced network cable etc..

1. You may be reaching your maximum concurrent connections
2. Your ISP may be experiencing network issues or performing maintenance.

Leave the router unplugged for atleast ten minutes and plug it back in. Don't use any file-sharing programs [p2p, bit-torrent, etc..] See how long your connection stays up.

My ISP is Rogers since I live in Ontario, Canada.

My router just resets randomly. It doesn't have a specific time when it resets...it just resets... I could be surfing the web and using MSN and it could still reset. It could reset like every 5min or it will reset just twice a day. That's the weird part. I'm running BT right now on my ethernet computer and it hasn't disconnected in the last 4 hours. I sometimes run BT on my wireless...but that's like 4 times a week for 30min. I was running eMule yesterday on my wireless and BT on the LAN and I didn't get disconnected. Both of my computers are virus-free. I have changed the deafult password and I have the latest firmware. I tried connecting my modem directly to the computer and it's trouble free, so I've come to the conclusion that it's my router that's resetting.

Linksys Tech Support says my router is malfunctioning and I have received a RMA #. Now I just have to see if my dad will get that RMA or not...

Oh yea...When I lost my connection I rushed over to where my router was and I didn't see the power light. All I saw was the Internet, LAN, and WLAN light blinking like when you plug in your router.

EDIT: Router just reset itself..time 8:59 p.m. EST

Router reset itself twice within the last 10min....time 10:20 p.m. BT on LAN and eMule on wireless.
 
Well.. I'm gonna be sending my Linksys router to the RAM department tomorrow. I'm going to have to use my DI-624 while I wait to get my Linksys router back. Surprisingly, I updated the DI-624's firmware and I don't get disconnected every 20-30 seconds now, unlike before where even if I wasn't using the internet I would still get disconnected. Only downside now is that I think the firewall on that router became corrupted, giving me BSODs and norton keep on giving messages like "blocked intrusion attempt". Well, it's better than to have no router I guess...
 
Try not to run emule, BT, or and any other "Snatching" software applications for few days, and see what happens.
