Linksys WRT54GS Issues

On Saturday I picked up a Linksys WRT54GS version 6 router and installed it, since then I've been experiencing problems with the router failing periodically. When I open up the included linksys software it tells me that the router is new and has to be configured, reconfiguring it takes less then 5 minutes most of it waiting but it is a hassle. Any ideas?
 
someone i was working with recently emailed me and told me linksys suggests flashing the firmware, even if its an up-to-date version already, just re-flash it.

didnt make alot of sense to me, but *that* will only take 5 minutes to do, and i guess youd know pretty soon whether or not it helped
 
I am having the same issue, can some one point out where I can get the firmware, I can see the option in Control Panel of linksys the option to upgarde firmware.
