I think there was a commercial recently bashing Comcasts speed boost but I don't remember what company it was.
Many of you are young and are Not familiar with the old western movies. many of these movies use to have a classical scene of a family leaving on a single cross road in the middle of Nowhere and making their leaving from creating and nursing a huge Mud pond in the middle of the Road. Any passing by use to get stuck in the Mud, and the family was more the happy to provide (with the proper charge) a "Push out of the Mud" service.
That old practice (as well as many similar scheme) were outlawed when we became a civilized nation.
It was outlawed, but did not go away. The only thing that you need to do is to Incorporate, then any scheme is legal for support/sacrifice to the all mighty ""Corporate God"".
I am strong believer in Capitalism. However we do not have any more Capitalistic Economy.
Slowly, slowly, in the last Decade, it changed into the old "Medieval European Feudalism",
