Hi I have an extra wrt54g router and I was wondering it were possible for me to use it as a sort of adapter for my xbox360. I actually have my xbox 360 and Directv in the same room so maybe I could connect them both to the router and have it act as an adapter? Or would that be a bridge?

Yes you can use it as a bridge, but to do so requires 3rd party firmware such as DD-WRT.
