linksys wrt54g router problem

When I go on my networks wireless connected comp, it says my network and another network, probably a neighbors. I changed to channel 1 but it still shows up. How can I fix this problem? I upgraded the firmware too.


Also, keep getting disconnected from AIM time to time, but nothing else. Is this a known problem?

Try changing the network name (ssid) in the router and the computer nic.

use mac filtering. turn on wep. set your own wifi to be the top priority in windows. and yes change ssid.... are your cards g? g gets better reception then b. i know ur router is g but the cards gotta be g to benifit from the upgraded reception
