Linksys WRT54G router behaving strangely

My Linksys WRT54G router has stopped working. It's not creating a wireless network. When I try to login into it (admin, non-default password), it just keeps asking for credentials over and over. Direct cable connection doesn't give me internet.

What can I do to fix things? And if I need to replace the router, what brand should I go for?
 
If you know all your settings for Account Type and Login info there is usually a Reset Button
on the back of most Modems and Routers .. hold it in for about 30 seconds .. it will reset to
Factory Defaults ... you would need to reconfigure it
