Does anyone know if i would be able to use this in my setup....

Currently have a Microsoft Wireless-G Router.....

Could i use the Linksys WRT54G router, update the firmware to the sveasoft one, then use it as a wireless bridge to connect my xbox to my existing wireless network?

Yes, it supports running the router into "client" mode where it will act as a normal client for another wireless network.

Under the Wireless tab in Basic Settings:
1. Change the Wireless Mode to Client.
2. Make sure the channel and SSID match the host network.

Under the Wireless tab in Security:
1. Make the security settings match that of the host network. (If you have MAC filtering enabled on the host network you will need to add the MAC of the WRT54g to it's allowed list.)

If you are using Satori take note:
Client mode in Satori is a bit buggy. It is something in the Linux kernel that Broadcom just didn't do properly for client mode to work inside of an Ethernet bridge.

Yep, that seems to be the problem... I got it to connect a few more times, but for no more than 5 seconds, then bam, nothing....

Its alright though, im just gonna pick up a xbox wireless adapter at CC

Thanks for the help though, appreciate it 🙂

Where can I find this Sveasoft firmware that lets you use the WRT54G as a wireless bridge with another Linksys wireless router?
