I have a Linksys WRT54G and my roommates are constantly sucking up bandwidth by leaving on P2P programs. I can be a jerk and shutting down their entire internet access by disabling their MAC address, but I don't want to do that. Is there a way to block P2P programs? More specifically Ares.

I just flashed my firmware to Sveasoft Alchemy 1.0 to get more options to do things. Any ideas what I can do to stop Ares?

a simple google search yields the following result:

ares uses port 15000

block that port. also do a search to see if ares uses any other ports that i may not have searched for.

i thought ares used like port 7678.

btw instead of completely blocking their port, you can set the bandwidth to a low priority using QoS. hell if you really want to you can just set their mac to a lower priority.
