linksys WRT54G and WAP questions

it's a pain to run cables through my new apt, so i was thinking about giving my roomates net access via wifi.

i dont know much about wifi, except that its had its share of security problems.

my current setup has a freebsd machine box running as a router...

i was thinking about giving it a third interface and then plugging in a linksys WAP into it. i was wondering if DHCP and NAT could be disalbed on these WAPs so that the router can handle all that.

since the prices for the WAP and WRT54G is close, i was thinking why not get teh WRT54G instead? can DHCP and NAT be disalbed on this as well?

thanks
