One of the best, imo. Great deal. Lot more info over at fatwallet, search wrt54g there, like the possibility of a $10 giftcard rebate too... etc.

Yeat, read more about this at FW. If you use the coupon, you may not get the 2nd $10 check.

Is this the router that can be updated to become a wireless bridge?

If you mean does it support WDS? Then yes... although the deal is dead now, but the $10 rebate is still good though.

Well staples still has it for $49ar, so if ya use the 12% off coupon its down to $41. Not nearly as good but not bad...

So if i update the firmware i could get her to work with my xbox?

I meant to use it as an access point for my xbox to connect to my existing wireless network.

This can be done. There is an operating mode where the device acts as a wireless client, effectively turning it into a bridge.

Very cool, but i would need two of them? Or would the WRT54G connect up as a wireless bridge to my Microsoft Wireless-G Router?

It would be a bridge for your current Microsoft router. You only need two WRT54g units for WDS, which is a different animal.

Not really true, you need 2 devices that have the same chipset.
So if you have any of these, then WDS should work fine.
Linksys WRT54G, Linksys WRT54GS, Linksys WAP54G, Linksys WRE54G, Belkin F5D7130, Belkin F5D7230-4, Belkin pre-802.11n devices, Motorola WR850G, Trendnet TEW-411BRP, Asus wl-300g, Asus wl-500g, Dell Truemobile 2300, Buffalo Airstation WBR-G54, Buffalo Airstation WBR2-G54, Ravotek W54-RT, Ravotek W54-AP, Microsoft MN700 & Apple Airport ExtremG all have the same chipset.

Whats the deal?

I say that it is dead in my 2nd post. :p

I noticed over at OD, they have it for 49.99 AR. It might be instore only, they had it listed on a pink card "49.99 After $20 rebate".
