Circuit city has the wrt54g on sale for 30.99 out the door. Its only B&M, so good luck finding one.

BE SURE TO GET A V4 OR LOWER!!!! V5 wont let you flash third party firmware

Sold out:
Staten Island, NY (Richmond Ave.)
Brooklyn, NY (Atlantic Ave.)

I hitnk they are all v5s. I got a v4 used for $40 AR 2 months ago from BB and rest all new v5s. My v4's been running since that day, for 2 months w/o a single reboot. Heard v5 not too stable.

Excellent deal if it's V4 or below. V5 don't bother as it uses VxWorks and many ppl have been saying it's junk.

Just a word of caution, last time I wasn't able to find any v4's at CC. This may not be the case at your local CC, but since they always have pretty limited stock on hand it would appear to me most if not all WRT54Gs CC is carrying are v5.

I checked my CC, they were all v5's... so I went to CUSA, they had all v3's. Picked up a v3 there and pricematched it to the CC price of $30.99... then two $15 rebates printed out at the register as well. If those go through, then I'll have paid 99 cents plus tax for a v3. Pretty sweet deal i'd say. YMMV of course.

How exactly do you pricematch? Do you have to have an ad? or can you say ""CC has this for $30, please price match it"

Thanks in advance

usually an ad is required or they call the store to verify or both if they're anal

More detailed table of the models here.

Definitely a hot deal, even if only at the $30.XX price. Red hot if the pricematching/rebates thing works =)

Alreayd own a wrt54gs v3, gonna try this out to see if I can't get a flashable 'backup' router.

doesn't circuit city have a money back pricing thing?

I bought one there about a month ago. Was looking to get some dollars back for it.

Would a WRT54GS be much better router? All its versions run linux plus you get Speedbooster? Anybody know if it's any good? I just might get that for 70 bucks.

the router is now 49.99 until next week. If u need/use speedbooster and have all linksys cards to use speedbooster, it might be worth ur investment... but its not a hot deal.
circuit city has a 30 day price match policy. if its cheaper within 30 days and in an ad or in store, they'll match it and refund the diff... u might have to remind them about the extra 10% before they make the price adjust. they might check for rebates and decline the price match if the price is lower after rebates... depending on the CSA...

So this SpeedBooster thing is only for Linksys cards? Like what Di-Link does with their routers?
