Hmm, tempting. But, a lot of bad reviews on Newegg. And one comment that the WRT1200AC v2 does NOT have DD-WRT available. Honestly, that's the only reason that I would want one of these.

I bought some TrendNet Gigabit / AC1200 routers months ago for $20 ea. new from Newegg, a couple of times that they had sales, and flashed one of them to DD-WRT. Other than the fact that they run really hot, those were the cheapest AC1200 DD-WRT routers that I've found.

And I've only recently picked up a whole bunch of Tenda AC1200 "high power" routers, for $20 ea. (refurb) on Newegg's ebay site.

And I think I paid $45 for my TrendNet AC1200 routers (non-DD-WRT compatible) a few years ago.

$65 for what is essentially a Belkin AC1200 router, is kinda pricey, even if it does have brand-name cachet.

Edit: I decided in the end to buy a couple, if nothing else just to resell, and experiment with one of them, but alas, they went OOS while I was typing this and reading the reviews. Better for me anyways, I guess. :)

I've played with (and ended up returning) this model on a number of occasions. When they work as expected their wireless range is unbelievable, at least in my environment it is. The problem is, regardless of firmware being used, they all would end up having some issue that would require one or more reboots a day.
