Card is version 3. Its kind of old so not sure if it can handle WPA.

Wireless networks detected pops right up finding my network. Put in the password and it tries to connect then it just closes out. Doesn't say it failed or anything it just doesn't connect.

Using Windows XP Pro SP2

I have a bright idea.

Connect first to Linksys support and find if your card can do WPA.

Its not officially supported but some people seem to be having luck with firmware updates somehow. I just cant figure it out.

EDIT: My firmware is up to date apparently. Looking for anything to do with WPA in the windows zero configuration utility and I see nothing :( this is frustrating.

If the drivers do not support WPA Windows would Not show it.

The WPC11 is an Old 802.11b card. The good news is the a new "Shiny" 802.11g card is only $17.99

The newest drivers say WPA on them but nothing is mentioned anywhere but in the driver name.

Thanks for the link, didn't find that one on there when I looked.

I do not know specifically about the WPC.

I have a D-link 802.11b card that was sold under the same name with different versions (chipsets).

While some of the versions are upgradable to WPA my version mumber is Not.
