Hi,
I'm having some issues with my LinkSYS WMP11 PCI 802.11b adapter and my Netgear MR814 802.11b wireless router. The router I've had for a while and am successfully connecting to multiple other laptops that have Netgear and Broadcom wireless adapters.
The problem is that the WMP11 won't connect with the router if WEP encryption is enabled and configured in either open or shared authentication modes. I can connect to the device only when the encryption is disabled. Funny thing is that it seems to connect to the router and obtain the IP address, but the "Connection-specific DNS suffix" under Win2k's 'ipconfig' command yields no result.
Does anyone have any experience with these or similar devices? Any known workarounds without disabling WEP encryption?
Thanks.
Jay
