Linksys Wirelesss problem!!!

Basically I have the WRT54G wireless router i beleive and a linksys wireless G expander. The problem is the Wireless router needs to be unplugged and plugged back in daily because the ips screw up and my computer and the one downstairs cant renew the ip. The computer downstairs is actually wired into the router so its a lan connection. My computer upstairs connects to the explander which every 25 minutes loses its connection and must reconnect. Can anyone walk me through some troubleshooting?
