I've got a Linksys wireless PC-Card. It installs and works flawlessly in my desktop using Win2K and the Linksys PCI adapter for the card. However, when I installed the card in my Dell laptop's (WinME) PC-Card slot, it installs but will not connect to the access point or retrieve an IP from the DHCP in my wireless/router. All the configuration program's settings are identical, and all networking settings are correct in the OS.
Could this problem be related to the router/access point? Perhaps it has made some permanent note of the card being in the desktop, and so it won't give it an IP if it's in another computer? But that doesn't make sense since the MAC should be the same no matter what. (Same card, same MAC).
Are there any known incompatibilites with WinME and wireless cards, or just Linksys cards? It works great on the desktop and Win2K...
Any help is appreciated, feel free to ask for more info. Thanks in advance.
