Ok..I created this thread in networking a couple of weeks ago..zilch responses..so I figured i'd give it a shot here.

I recently upgraded my wireless router from a D-link 614+ to a Linksys Wireless G router. I am using an older laptop with an ambicom wireless card, that worked fine with the d-link router, but I cannot get wireless to work with the new router. It finds the SSID, but I cannot get an IP address, nor can I get a good signal from it even when im a foot away. I have updated the firmware to the latest version, tried a different wireless card, and double-checked my configuration. I also tried resetting defaults, but nothing seems to work. Am I missing anything here? All I get is a solid red light on the card, and the green light flickers occasionaly.

Assuming that nothing else on your computer or in the environment has changed... Your DHCP is active on the router (I think it is the default setting, but not sure)? And you are not getting ANY ip (as opposed to one of those 'private address' ones)? Is the other card an identical model (to rule out some weird clash between the ambicom and the router)? If WEP is not activated and there is no firewall interference, it may simply be a faulty unit. Frustrating but not uncommon. Can you exchange it?
