Amazing, an I-Phone for 89.99 bucks! Well, kind of. Not of the Apple variety, and I suspect that this will be the last version from Linksys with the I-Phone moniker, but hey. What a price!

This used to sell for around $150. From reading the reviews at Amazon, it works pretty well, but you will probably need to upgrade the firmware. Shouldn't be a big deal for AT members. Anyway, Amazon is good for 30 day refund if you have any problems or don't like it. I ordered one. Arrives next week.

They do. Except these were by guys who didn't load the new firmware. Those that loaded the firmware updates said it was great.

This could be the most misleading topic in the Hot Deals forum.

A) This phone is nothing like the iphone that you want to portray AND
B) The reviews for this phone are terrible!

It is cheaper and than other places, so if people want to buy JUNK, then its a HOT DEAL

Title was perfectly clear. How did you know what the OP wanted to portray?
If you can see a better price for this. Please give links.
Threadcrapping is not permitted. If you don't like the deal just move on.

This is a hot deal.
Apple had to buy the rights to share the name I-Phone from Cisco.
The reviews early did say this phone was not so great but like the OP said, since the firmware update the major issues have been fixed... like the battery charge problems and the speakerphone not working.

I have the kind of cordless that hooks up to my PC using USB and has to have the PC on to work with skype. I've been waiting for these WIFI ones to drop below $100. Thanks OP, nice find.

Thanks guys. I've looked at all of the wifi phones at Amazon (Netgear, SMC, Belkin as well as Linksys) and they all had mixed reviews and high prices. Linksys seemed to have gotten it all together with the firmware updates, is much cheaper than the others, and with the updates gets better reviews than the competition. I'll get it next week and give it a whirl. Would have waited to post, but the deal is only through the 16th. But you can always return it if it doesn't pan out. If there are problems Amazon takes it back within 30 days and pays shipping, so actually a no risk deal.

It's now at 99 bucks without rebate (the rebate dates are way past). Price went up to 120 or so, now back down to 99 as of today. Not as good as 89 but still an excellent deal compared to the competition. I got mine in the mail last week. First thing I did was upgrade the fimware (don't even bother using it unless you uprade firmware first. It won't work right without the latest version.) Once upgraded the phone has worked flawlessly. If you look at the reviews at the Amazon site, just ignore the ones that didn't include the May 2007 firmware version. Otherwise the phone will seem to be a total disaster. In fact, it's a great phone and seems to be (according to the more recent reviews) the best of the lot for now. A few tips. The phone charges from a usb cable that comes with digital cameras. The charger works fine, but you can take the cable with you and charge it from a usb port on any computer, it seems. Also it seems like you can run the phone while the charging cable is attached. I haven't had a problem with battery, though. Just charge it at the end of the day. Another tip. The "joystick" seems to regulate the sound volume. This wasn't in the documentation, but I found it on a Linksys forum. All in all, a lot of fun. Bonus: it's way cool the way it lights up when you touch a key. Very small, weighs around 4 ounces or so.

Is now $89 without rebate. I wonder if thei price will stick awhile and we might see a new rebate on top of this price to bring it down even more. Hmmmm to order now or to wait, hmmmmm.

Just to put in my two cents... I just got this phone for much more but I sort of needed it in a fix and it is great so far. Connecting to networks sometimes takes half a minute but it is fast at searching for networks and I have found quite a few around town. There is almost no delay in talking which is great, and the quality of voice on both ends is of normal quality as you would expect from a cell phone. Battery life I haven't really had a chance to test much yet as it is plugged in, but one gripe would be that my Outlook contacts are not on the list as they are on the desktop Skype. Oh, and if the network needs brower authentication, you can't use it, which is a shame but all of the wifi Skype phones are like that at this point. It seems to be a well built, nifty little gadget for those who live in cities and don't feel the need for a cell phone while out of the house.
