Amazon has the Linksys WGA11B Wireless-B Game Adapter for $69.99 with free super saver shipping.

The Wireless-B Game Adapter gives any wired-Ethernet-equipped game console wireless connection capabilities. The Game Adapter can be used in two different ways. If you have an existing home wireless network with a cable or DSL Internet connection, the Game Adapter lets your PlayStation2, Xbox or GameCube attach to the network so you can get into online games without running wires to the game room.

what is the deal with this thing? How is this different than the WET11? If anything, it seems that this is even better than the WET11 since you can buy 2 of these and connect them peer-to-peer.

I've been meaning to get a solution for my XBox, but the WET11 is too much for internet connectivity for a game console, so I'm considering this. WHen you say dumbed down, what features is it lacking?

I was reading through the manual and it says on Page 10:
Obtain IP Address automatically should only be selected if you are connected to a network with a DHCP server, allowing it to administer the IP Address automatically. Otherwise, select Specify an IP Address.

It seems to me that this can only handle DHCP'ing a single computer. So, if you were to hook this up to a router's internet in, it would only be able to handle one computer on the router, regardless of the number of ports, since it will only dish out one IP address.

I could be wrond of course, but that's the way I'm reading it. I believe that the WET11 could be used in the fashion I'm describing without a problem....

.....huh?

WET11 is for a single computer isn't it? That would mean it is only able to get one IP address as well, no?

I can't even explain what you said. All I can say is you have no idea what you're doing, sorry...

Dumbed down may not be the correct term. I can't view the product manual at work (FTP blocked) so I can't really compare and contrast features. You can connect a hub/switch to a WET11 and have multiple devices going through the WET11. WET11 supports encryption. I can't tell if the WGA11B supports this.

I checked out the userguide for this product off the linksys FTP.

It says:

"Note: If your wireless network uses WEP encryption and/or has
SSID disabled, the Game Adapter should be configured with its
Setup Wizard to use one of the three available profiles. Profiles
show up on the LED display as ?P1?, ?P2?, or ?P3?. Once the
Game Adapter is configured with its Setup Wizard, select the
appropriate profile from the LED display.
Setup for Head-to-Head play or with a simple wireless connection
is described in ?Chapter 4: Simple Setup?."

and

"Key - You can also enter the WEP Key manually in the Key field. If you are
using 64-bit WEP encryption, then the key must consist of exactly 10 hexadecimal
characters. If you are using 128-bit WEP encryption, then the key
must consist of exactly 26 hexadecimal characters. Valid hexadecimal characters
are ?0?-?9? and ?A?-?F?."

So it looks like it supports 64 and 128-bit WEP. There seems to be very little difference between WET11 and this thing if you are just hooking up an Xbox, PS/2, ReplayTV, etc!

As mentioned in the posts above, a WET11 can specifically be used as the input source for a router and can issue multiple unique IP addresses via DHCP so that you can get a bunch of computers connected to the same router, going wireless.

All I was trying to say, was that by my reading of the manual (which I already acknowledged may be incorrect), is that it seems that the WGA11B only supports issuing a single IP address via DHCP (based on the wording of the manual).

If that truly is the case, it would explain the price difference between it and the WET11.
