Linksys WAP11 - Normal operation?

I just got a Linksys access point and PC card for my laptop.

I noticed on the front panel of the WAP11, the ACT light is flickering with a very low light. It says in the manual this may be activity, but I dont have the PC card in operation right now.

Is this really activity or does the ACT always flicker dimly?
 
I think it flashes to indicate WAN/LAN...I know my Barricade does.

My Barricade is also a WAP, and whether my PC card is on or not...my LAN/WAN light is flashing steadily!
