Linksys USB100tx [usb-to-ethernet] for Playstation 2?

I have a Linksys USB100tx USB to Ethernet adapter, my roommate has a PS2 with tiger woods 2007 and NHL 06. Will the adapter allow us to play the games online? Is the adapter just plug and play for the Playstation 2? Any help would be much appreciated thanks!
 
Before I got the regular PS2 network adapter I tried the Linksys one and it worked I used it in Socom and it worked just fine so I do believe it is plug and play. It can't hurt to try.
