A friend of mine needs to connect his desktop to a wireless network for gaming, and his old router is dead, so he'll be picking up a new one. I've read some reviews on the D-Link gaming router, and it appears to be pretty decent, especially with the GameFuel technology that prioritizes gaming packets. However, would SRX do the same and/or better? The price difference isn't huge, and he's willing to pay for the better solution.

There will probably be 1 or 2 other PCs on the network, with average browsing habits, no BT usage or other constant bandwidth-sucking activities.

From what I researched on the SRX lineup it's more for farther distance as far as range is concerned. I'm not sure if it will help your friend with his gaming. So will the desktop be wirelessly connected or will it be hard wired into the router?

If you are running heavy Gaming Network with many users, the D-Link might be adventitious.

Otherwise, for general use, or and Gaming involved 2-3 computers the SRX is probably a better choice.
