Linksys Router

I have a Linksys router and two computers hooked up to it. PC1 is connected into slot 1 using a straight cable, the cable modem is plugged into the WAN slot and PC2 is connected to Uplink using a crossover cable. They both have no problem sharing the connection and getting internet access, but neither can ping one another, what is the problem? The protocol installed is TCP/IP, thank you in advance.

Depends how your network is set up ...

DHCP or static? 'cause you should be able to ping the internal ip addy's ...

Move PC1 to Port2 on the router, Port1 is the same as the uplink port. check in yer manual. Bet yer problem is solved after you do that and reboot both machines 😉 BTW count yourself lucky if nothing is damaged, as that can reuslt from a situation like this.
