Linksys Router, Trillian, and File Transfers Woes

I have DSL and am using a Linksys router to give internet access to all the computers in my apartment. However, I can't seem to receive files over trillian (I use ICQ and AIM). I've tried to forward the ports to my computer, but this doesnt seem to work. Has anyone successfully configured their linksys router (or trillian software) to work with trillian for file transfers?

thanks in advance.

If I set my computer as the DMZ host, won't that effectively disconnect all the other computers from connecting to the internet? I share my connection with other people, so this isn't an option. It's ok if I forward ports to my computer, since none of them use ICQ or AIM for sending/receiving files.

No you don't lose connectivity to the other computers.
