Linksys Router Question

Was wondering what ras plan is under setup when connection useing ppoe it has a option for 256k and 512k ethernet. Doesn't seem like it make a difference either or. I still am able to connect.

I currently have pacbell dsl and i keep getting drop connections a lot. I know it isn't my isp because if i go without the router I stay connected a lot longer. So it has to be something in the router. I noticed that under advanced setting there are some options for example

Block wan request which is enable. What exactly does this do and how does it affect the connection? I currenly have dhcp disable in the router and I configured each pc manually with there own ip. 192.168.1.2 and so on. So that I could use the port forwarding fuction...

Thanks for any help anyone here is able to give

Thanks Again

Block wan request is to disable ping from internet to your router, has nothing to do with connection drop.
use 512 with pacbell and make sure you 're running latest firmware for the router.
It helped in my case.

<< Keep alive is on by default >>

my linksys router came defaulted as Connect on Demand? I think. I figured I give this suggestion in case it was something that obvious.
