In the configuration screen for the router.
Where the heck do I go to disable/enable the firewall?

I cant play TW2002 online with it on!

And at this moment in time I'd like to strangle the fool who decided to use acrobrat reader for the manual.
When are they gonna figure out that acrobat reader sucks!

click advanced then forwarding.... find your ip behind the router and forward the port that TW2002 uses.... if that doesn't work try disabling the block wan request in filters.

When certain data comes in, your router needs to know which PC on the local lan it goes to. Games, FTP, Web, etc all use different port numbers. Port forwarding basically tells which PC to send the info to. This will allow the data through.

Go on the forum for that game, contact the game developer, do a google search, whatever to find out which port numbers that game uses. When you do, simply enter the port range in, and the local IP of the machine you play that game on. All should work. Most newer games work without this hassle, but some don't.

You could also put the Local IP of the PC you want to play this game in the "DMZ". This turns off all Firewall features, and is as if you don't have one at all as far as security goes.

go to the run prompt and type winipcfg ..... in the upper right hand corner find your adapter in the drop down list... select your adapter then read the ip address..... it should be in the 192.168.1.100 range

after you've found that log into the router..

then click advanced, then forwarding... put the port the games uses in both service port range fields, leave the protocol field alone and then put your ip in the ip address field.

if your using W2K or Xp you need to go to command prompt and type ipconfig and look for ip address.

Thanks alot for the help guys.
Very educational & very helpful.

I got it working.

Kinda dont like being forced to "expose" myself to play a game though.
Im not to happy with EA for that.

Wolfenstein never complained about my firewall.
