Linksys Pre-N gear?

Has anyone heard or seen any Linksys Pre-N gear that is supposed to be coming out soon? Supposedly the distance on these things should be greater than G.

It's not worth buying. Wait for 802.11n to be standardized. Buying pre-N equipment from _anyone_ is basically asking to be hardware-locked into a particular vendor.

MIMO, on the other hand, is a relatively reasonable upgrade path, since it doesn't try to be anything other than 802.11g. Remember to turn off that awful channel-bonding stuff, though.

Why not? If it works now, who's to think that it won't be even better when ratified?

As I've said in another recent post, I've purchased over 4 dozen Belkin Pre-N routers within the last year alone, and everyone that is using them has nothing but praise for them. Sure, MIMO is the big component, but it works better than your Linksys 802.11G router with high gain antenna.

Well the Linksys router I'm talking about is actually a G with MIMO and supposedly it's really good. I researched it further and it has SPX or something along thoes lines technology.

You make the assumption that Pre-N equipment is going to be compatible with real 802.11n. This is highly unlikely, since the standards group tossed out the previous 802.11n spec that all this Pre-N equipment is based off (AFAIK).
