linksys or netgear?

The problem is that the netgear product is not a router, whereas the linksys is also a router. This means that the Netgear one will not share 1 public ip for you.

hmmm.. i was reading it a little bit, so the routers need to support the type of authentication thingy whatever that i have? im assuming the linksys router does cuz its in the name of the thing or whatever... does hte netgear rt314? and whats this about the firmware problems with the linksys? and are there any bad things or whatever with the netgear rt314? i dont have that much knowledge in networking stuff so thanks to everyone that replied and will reply 🙂

I'm not sure what that authentication thing is that you are talking about, but I wouldn't rule out the SMC Barricade router. It can be had for $100 with free overnight shipping from Outpost.com. Very popular over at DSLreports.com... the printer server comes in handy too.
