Here is my problem: I have a Linksys LNE10/100 Card (v4.1) running on Windows 2000. It can surf the internet and do network neighborhood fine but runs into problems. A download, for example, will get about 10 meg or so and then just stop. After this happens, it is impossible to do anything else on the network. I need to reboot to correct this. It does not happen at any specific time or any specific file, it just happens all the time and really sucks. It happens on my LAN and the WAN (the internet) For example, it was impossible to play an Age of Empires game against my two computers on the network. The game ran for a minute or so and then jammed up. Suggestions?

I have the same problem with my LNE100TX V2 NIC. It's really annoying, especially since you can't play shockwave games at all. The problem is obviously in the drivers, they don't transfer specific package correctly. Downloads work fine sometimes, but it really depends on the file. You could try to play around with the NIC settings under My Computer (change the DWORD transfer rate around). I actually ordered a Netgear FA310TX, its supposed to be the next best thing to 3Com and Intel and is cheap. My best advice would be to get a new NIC. The problem is software oriented but there are no new drivers for the LNE series. I have lost all faith in Linksys! Hope that helps!:(

<sigh>...I will email them about it but it sounds like I just just bum a 10Mbit card off a freind in the mean time.

Dump the Linksys cards and order some Acctons. Here are some pulls for $6 a piece. The are great cards.
