I need help!
Just replaced Verizon Online DSL with Optimum Online Cable service
and can't set the router to share the connection with my other computers.
The router was working fine with Verizon using PPPoe.
But I can't find the right settings to use with OOL.

I've tried the Automatically detect IP Address and also the static address
option.

My son in law downstairs had no problems with his Dlink router after doing the
service switch. He just choose the "Detect IP Address Automatically" and all his four
machines are connected.

Let me say that without the router everything works fine.

Anyone with experience with a similar setup please help.

Cable modem: Motorola Surfboard
Router: Network Everywhere (Linksys) NR041 with latest firmware.

Yes I did.
...and I saw that many other peeps have the same router
and same service...but I can't find any details.

Did you use DHCP or Static IP Address?

No luck.

Maybe it has to do with the registration of the modem:

(HFC MAC ID: XXXXXXXXXXXX)

Or possibly the only MAC Address they recognize is the modem's.

Did you register your modem after setup?

Try plugging 1 pc directly into the modem. Do you get anything? If nmot, your modem is bricked and you have to call them and regiv them your MAC addy.
Their are no special settings with OOL.
ALl you need to do is set for DHCP for WAN addy and that's that. My guess is you are bricked!

One pc directly to the modem works fine.
The problem is when I try to use the router.

You can see all computers in the network but none of them including the main one
will not connect to the internet.

I have disabled the firewalls and done everything including setting the router
with static IP. I've noticed that I always get the same IP address even disconnecting/resetting the modem
and using the command "ipconfig /release" and "ipconfig /renew" (That's when connected directly to the modem)

Connected to the router all I see is the local settings (192.168.1.1....)

I am not proficient in networking, I hope you guy understand what I'm saying.
