I have 3 machines with the Linksys Version 2.0 LNE100TX NICs and just installed a newer 4.1 version LNE100TX. My question is whey do the lights on the HUB stay on when the computer is off? Both new and old cards have Wake on LAN. The older cards don't show up when the machine is off. Is something wrong with the card? or did they change something?

Is the newer card faster? or did they only make other upgrades?

Mine does that as well. Im not sure why it does that either, but it seems to do no harm. I just ignore it.

Well, did you attach the wake on LAN headers for the newer card? I know that most of the managed style PC's do that (Dell's onboard 3com stuff, etc) My 2.0 card doesn't keep the link up to my Cisco when the pc's off though. Maybe there's something in the newer cards to keep power on for the wake-on-LAN without the wires.

dunno.
