hi :)
i bought the switch last week to hook up a second computer without having to deal with 2 of everything. when i first installed it and booted up my main computer booted into xp with a message saying it recovered from a serious error or something like that. i knew i turned it off without a problem so i though ok maybe it is just getting used to the new set up.

had no problems til the next day when i cold booted and again had the same problem. this time i went to MS and looked at the info they had on the problem... they couldnt identify the problem and said it had to do with unknown hardware...

Yesterday i couldnt even boot into xp, would ask if i wanted safe mode and when i chose safe mode it would hang, tried everymode and would hang as it listed files. anyway i reinstalled xp without the switch.

I talked to linksys today and they said they had no known issues with this, i told them nothing had changed nor any problems before this happened and the lady after putting me on hold 3 times to ask others asked if i could return it to the store for a new one. i said i could and left it at that.

now normally i would have no problem switching the switch but my freiend bought it using his girlfreinds discount and didnt want hassles so i dont know wether to just return it for my cash back or replace it like suggested.

does anyone know anything about this switch and or have had this problem? do you think it is a broken switch or would happen again? i am using a new motherboard and am thinking that the switch might be sending mixed signals but i dont know enough to really say.

any help on this would be apreciated.
thanks

p.s.
i am using a nec fe1250+ 21inch and microsoft usb/ps2 basic optical mouse and a logitech keyboard - ps2.

I have a linksys 2 port I use constantly, and have had no issues with it, period. Hook that switch back up and use it. if it is flakey, return it, but i think your problem was a separate issue, and just a coincidence.
