Linksys KVM switches

I read almost all the threads here, I like the Linksys ProConnect 2 or 4 port but it seems that 2 port is a kit and Wheel mouse works where the 4 Port is bare and wheel mouse doesn't work. Can anyone confirm, most people say yes, most say no, i even check on eopinion... let me know.. the threads here seems to confirm it may work... any one know for sure ? Thanks

I have the 2 port version of the proconnect and a logitech mouseman. The wheel works fine but the thumb botton doesn't work. When attached through the KVM windows id's the mouse as a standard logitech wheel mouse.

I just got the Linksys 4-port "Compact" KVM switch and my M$ Optical mouse (with wheel) doesn't work right - it works, but the mouse jumps around the screen and freezes at random, rendering it pretty much useless. I haven't determined if this is a wheel problem or optical problem. Perhaps the LED is pulling too much current? I connected a standard 2 button non-wheeled mouse and it works fine; haven't tried a standard wheel mouse yet.

BTW, I paid $82 for the switch at Outlook.com. It comes w/o cables, so I ordered 4 10' Belkin cables for $14 each (make sure its got 3 seperate cables, not the cheaper cables with single connector on one end). I'm having a slight ghosting problem with the video cable but nothing major for my purposes). I might just order one nice cable for my main system and keep the Belkins for the rest.

I have the 2-port Proconnect. The wheel and all buttons on my MS Optical Trackball works fine. Only problem is slight signal degradation for my monitor - I run at 1280x1024 and I loose a bit of brightness and text sharpness.
