router version:: BEFSR41 - EtherFast 4-Port Cable/DSL Router

My router restricts the time I'm allowed on the net! So the real problem is that my dad has used a password unknown to me to initiate a total time limit that my computer can access the net. Please help me fix this. Any ideas? BTW: a brute forcer may be the way to go because I know he keeps his passwords short and simple.

Thx

Why not ask him to allow you on during other times? If he is restricting the times you are allowed on there is a reason for it. Plus how do we know you are not a script kiddiot (on the outside you are admitting to being one on the inside) trying to get in?

Some things to think about...

Linksys routers use NAT, which (to the best of my knowledge) makes it hard to access from the outside.

The router can only be accesed from computers it thinks are on the inside. (i have no idea if this is true though, so pls tell me if it isn't)

NAT makes it neccesarry to employ tactics out of mine (and this post's) scope to access computers embedded in the subnet, much less pretend to be one to access the router..

I'm pretty much done with posting new replies to this post bc of my limited technical knowledge of this aspect, but pls feel free to post to my original question.

It can be done. Why does your dad restrict the amount of time you can spend on the net? Maybe you should talk to him about this.
