I followed the quick installation guide and my main computer is receiving an internet connection but my second one is not. I checked the DHCP server tab and it shows that the second computer is receiving an IP address and I can ping the computer as well. But, when I open internet explorer on the second computer I get nothing. Do I have to change/set anything up on the second computer to get this to work? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. I have a cable modem BTW :)

I could be wrong, I am reading up on this myself right now. I am getting cable soon. Anyway, I think you still have to go into your browser (second sytem) and tell it what connection to use. For IE go into Tools, then Internet Options, then connection and config for the cable modem or network I assume should show up?

I'll be intertested in knowing if I am close or clueless or how you got it to work. I am comparing routers right now. The D-link di-704 looks good but??

Good luck.

Make sure that your second computer is getting a correct IP (it must be 192.168.1.x where x is a number between 2 to 254). If it does not you should set the TCP/IP property to obtain an IP automatically. If it does you might need to check your IE connection property. Click on the len setting button and check "Automatically detect settings".

Got everything working now. There was nothing wrong, I'm just a moron. I was only testing connectivity with one website. Well, that site happened to be down at the time. I was just hitting my home key because that's what I had it set to. I didn't think to check another site. I highly recomend this router. Painfully easy setup. Just don't make any stupid mistakes like I did. Oh, and if anyone wants my 8 port Intel hub for 75 bucks LMK.
