This is the first time I'm seeing a WRT54GC. I have the WRT54G & If it's the same router in a compact case design, then this is a sweet deal on an awesome routrer. The firmware is open source & there are several third party firmware versions availible for it:

Keep in mind that it has an internal antenna so the coverage range will not be great. Luckily, it has a provision for an external antenna.

Have you tried calling BB and trying to pricematch? If they did then go for the rebate.

Edit: Just called. BB willnot pricematch to ANY on-line retailer.

Just a note: You won't be able to change the firmware on this one to a 3rd party firmware.

Review here.

It mentions one of the other cons is that the wifi range isn't as great as the wrt54g out of the box.

As expected. But like I said above, you can add an external antenna.

That's why I added "out of the box" ;)

I had one of these...wireless was almost as good as it's brother, wrt54g...but the wired performance was horrible.
