Linksys cable router (4 port) slowdown???

I installed the linksys router a few days ago, and have noticed that my throughput it good, but the time it takes to get from point A to point B is slower now. Like opening the browser, finding my homepage now takes probably 5 times as long as it used to.

I have a SB3100 surfboard modem, the linksys (firmware version 1.36 factory installed)..

any ideas what I can do or what could be the culprit?

how do you have the router set up? DHCP? try static IP...thats one thing that might help, also have you optimized your computer for networks? if not go to www.speedguide.net...I have the same router and do have any slowdown whatsoever...also try resetting and power cycling the modem and router, sometimes that help.
