I'm not sure I would check your cable providers website for a list of approved cable modems. This does work with Portland, OR's AT&T @Home.

I think it can lower your monthly bill anywhere from $5-$10 per month because you OWN your own cable modem, instead of renting/leasing from the cable company. After 10 months (or less) the cable modem will practically pay for itself.
