Hello everybody...
I recently experienced a port outage on my Linksys router... my parents computer is connected to my router by a 100ft CAT5 running all through the house before it gets to my router, so I thought that might have been the problem... that the cable might have died somewhere...
I plugged the laptop into a different port and it works fine... I took a different CAT5, plugged it into the original port that my parents laptop was in, and it didn't work. Nither did another computer in that same port. Can my port be DEAD? or can it just be misconfigured (I don't think I've ever done anything to it). I've never upgraded the Firmware on my Linksys, should I? is there a reason to do this (like the port problem?) or is that something I shouldn't worry about. The other 3 ports in the router are working fine.
Any ideas or comments???
