Okay so I'm trying to connect to my wireless network called "nocab". After many attempts to find the network it never shows up on the wireless network list.

I asked my roommate if he made any changes to the router and he replied he didn't. So while I was in his room checking the router all the lights were on for wireless and internet but wireless wasn't blinking. As my roommate turns on the computer, the wireless starts flashing. I go back to my laptop and bam, the network shows up.

Now my roommate isn't going to keep his computer on 24/7 so that I can use wireless. Has anyone ever had this problem?
 
are you trying to use wireless to surf internet or to networking with his computer? If you are trying to wireless networking with his computer then his computer must stay on 24/7. If you just want wireless internet then I don't see why his pc need to be on all the times.
 
actually turns out to be just a coincidence. this linksys router BEFW11S4V4 is known to have a lot of problems and ppl can't seem to find way around it. when rma-ed, it returns broken as well. i think linksys might be developing new firmware for it. right now thousands of ppl have this router as a huge paper weight. sucks.
