unfortunately my dad hiered some idiot to set up our wireless network. He did not leave the router's static IP address as default 193.168.1.1 ...he changed it...my problem is that i dont know what he changed it to. is there a way i can figure this out so that i can change the settings? i would appreciate this a lot. thanks

If the wireless version is the same as my BEFSR41 V.2, then a hard reset may clear that and reload factory defaults.
Look for the reset switch and hold it down till the "Diag" light on the front turns on and off completely.

Or if you don't have windows ME/9X (in other words, if you have Win2000 or XP) then run ipconfig /all from a DOS prompt to get the gateway IP.

or if you have a *nix based os, arp will achieve the same effect. just thought i'd throw that in since you didn't specify what os you were running. 😛
