Linksys BEFSX41 any way to unbrick it?

So my connection got cut when I tried to updated the firmware and now I have the flashing red light of death. Is it trash? I have looked online for ways to unbrick it but my computer never makes a connection to it and I can never ping it.

A friend gave me his old Linksys but it cuts my speed down to 1/3rd of what it should be so i'd love to get this working again.

You might be able to TFTP a copy over to it.

I know it's for the GS router (the link) but if you look at the files, they are downloading the TFTP version for your router.

Edit: If you can't ping it, not sure you can TFTP it. Might be toast without something like a JTAG to attach/clear it out.

Yeah, I tried TFTP but since I can not connect to the router, it will not update. I don't know what JTAG is, I'll Google it. You would think they would make a basic rom chip that would take over in case a flash goes bad, just so you are not left with junk

I actually got it to boot up and flash the firmware using the instructions on this page. I was nervous opening it up and sticking metal to pins inside it but it worked.
