The web based admin for my BEFSR41 router is acting a little bit strange. Every time I access a page, it keeps lagging, waiting for the gifs that make up the interface to load up. Sometimes the gifs take a lot of time (30 seconds) to show up. WTF? This should be instantaneous, right? I've seen the same behavior in another BEFSR41, with a different firmware version. However, I also have a WRT54G wireless router, and it's web based admin works great. Everything pops out instantly.

I'm using firmware ver. 1.04.17
 
Hmm, I have both of those routers. My BEFSR41 does take a significant time to load compared to the WRT54g but nowhere near 30 seconds. Have you tried installing the latest firmware?
