Well.. most of my problem are nothing new.. like i cant send out files on AIM, ICQ sometimes or when the other has firewall too.. i cant get on mIRC cuz of my idnet settings.. but recently, my school email account would not let me send out emails, I can recive, but i can not send. I tried it at my other friends place, he has the same router, but i was able to send and recive there.. but when i came back to my place.. it still wont let me send out emails, i tried pretty much everything.. forward ports 20-21, reinstall my OS, reset the router settings.. still can not get it to work.. i am running Window 2000 with RoadRunner,
if anyone can help me out with any of the problem including AIM, ICQ and mIRC and mostly my email problem, that really would be helpful..
Thank You

forward port 113 for mirc, not sure about the email, but dont think anyone can send files with aim with this router, i might be mistaken. best of luck.

thanx for the reply cooltech... i tried the 113 port.. but somehow still i get banned from the mIRC server, with AIM.. i only can send or get files when other side does not have firewall... with emailing... its pretty funny... i can send out email as long as its the same pop or smtp sever i think.. cuz i am can send emails to people in school.. (pop.service.ohio-state.edu) and can not send out to anyothers.. i'll get message like "550 <the email addy i'm trying to send to>... Relaying denied for [my actual ip].. does anyone know anything?

I had the same problem for sending files in ICQ and my FTP won't work if someone is behind NAT as well. My ICQ problem was solved when I reinstalled ICQ and during the isntallation it asked me for which ports to use (when behind firewall)....you have to specify a range of 100 (eg. 4000 to 4100). Then when you forward your ports on the router do the same. As for the FTP, my buddie has to log in from his linux machine which serves him as a firewall. Hope that helps a bit. I know you can change this ICQ port settings within ICQ just don't remember where, plus I have the 99b version.

The relaying denied message comes up when your IP is not allowed to send through a given mail server. Talk to the school and check whether they have stoped permitting your IP block from sending through their server. You should be able to send out through your local ISP in any case.

Thanx for the help on emailing Ender78.. i think that is it.. but do you think if somehow my ip change.. will it resolve the problem? just wondering.. ^_^
