Linksys and Apple? Working together?

Does anyone know if the wireless products from Linksys, or D-Link, or whatever work on the Mac? I dont want to use Airport. And I'm not talking about the wireless router or the access points. i'm talking about the receivers that we have to plug into the computer. Does anyone know if they work on Macs?

Why do you not want to use the Airport Cards? At the very least they have the best driver support for Mac's (I would hope so.) They also utilize the built-in attenna's in the computer. You should have better range than and external PC Card.

That said. Although I don't have any personal experience, I think that D-Link "may" have drivers for Mac. Linksys pretends Macs don't exist (like a lot of users here on AT 🙂 ). There are also some Unix drivers for 3rd Party cards that have been recompiled for OSX. Check out sites like MacInTouch & MacFixIt for some more info.
