For about 4 months I have been using a linksys pro-connect 4 port KVM. It has always been a pain with wheel mouse in that when you scroll up using virtually any Windows OS (98, 98se, 2000 pro, 2000 server, or XP), it actually takes your web browser back a page.

Or, if scrolling through news groups with outlook express, it takes you back a link or opens a new link.

Basically, its a pain in the ass.

I called Linksys today to get a fix for this or find out how to fix the issue. When I purchased the product, there was no mention of needing to use only 2 or 3 button mice and no wheel mouse. In fact, their own documentation says it is "Compatible with Virtually all Major PS2 Mice", yet, NO wheel mice from Microsoft or Logitech work correctly with this KVM

None, nada, zip.

I called into Linksys tech support and was told to use a 2 or 3 button mouse. Well, this doesnt work for me since I am a gamer also and need my scroll wheel. I explained that the documentation says it works with virtually all major ps2 mice, but he said no wheel mice. NOWHERE ON THE BOX OR IN THE DOCUMENTATION DOES IT SAY THAT IT DOES NOT WORK WITH WHEEL MICE!!!

So, I'm a bit frustrated now that I have this $90.00 worthless KVM that wont work with wheel mice. Scrolling down works fine, scrolling up wants to take me back 1 link.

Its not the mouse software, I have tried both ms and logitech software and no software with these mice and it makes no difference....

There is no known fix.

I am going to email my complaint into Logitech and see what they say.
